Baseball's Ross Named Centennial Conference Player of the Week
LANCASTER, Pa. - Swarthmore junior third baseman Spencer Ross has been named the Centennial Conference baseball Player of the Week for the week ending March 27, the conference announced on Monday.
Ross, from Chappaqua, N.Y., hit .667 (6-of-9) on the week, including a 6-of-8 performance with three doubles and three RBI in the doubleheader sweep of Dickinson. Ross scored the walk-off run the first game after a clutch double with one out in the ninth and a Tom Nakamura single. In the second game Ross had 3 hits, including one double, two RBI's and two runs scored.
Swarthmore now stands at 11-5 overall and 2-0 in Centennial play. The Garnet returns to the field on Tuesday afternoon, as Tri-Co rival Haverford (14-4-, 0-2) comes to visit Clothier Field. First pitch is set for 3:30 p.m.
