Malia Scott of the Swarthmore College volleyball team has been named the Centennial Conference Player of the Week, as announced by the league office on Monday, Oct. 30. She is the second Swarthmore player to receive the award this fall, joining outside hitter
Mehra den Braven.
Scott averaged 12.43 assists per set and helped the Garnet secure the second seed in the upcoming Centennial Conference tournament with two wins. In a sweep of regionally-ranked Muhlenberg, Scott paced Swarthmore's offense, which posted a .282 hitting percentage. The senior setter also posted a double-double with 43 assists and 10 digs as the Garnet topped Haverford in a rivalry match.
Swarthmore will face Muhlenberg on the campus of Johns Hopkins on Saturday, Nov. 4 at 3:30 PM for a chance to compete for the conference crown and an automatic berth to the NCAA Tournament.
