LANCASTER, Pa. –
Osazenoriuwa Ebose led a list of nine Swarthmore student-athletes who were named to the All-Centennial Conference women's track & field teams, as announced by the league office o Wednesday, May 13. The senior thrower was named the league's field athlete of the year after cruising to individual crowns in the shot put and discus throw.
All-Centennial first-team honors are earned by finishing in first place in an event, including relays, at the conference championship meet which was contested at Muhlenberg from May 1-3. Second-team honors go to student-athletes who finish as an event runner-up, and third-place finishers garner honorable mention.
Ebose, who was also named the field athlete of the year during the indoor season, easily won the shot put and discus throw with school-record marks at the championship meet to pick up a pair of first team accolades. Her mark of 49-feet, 8.25-inches in the shot put is a Centennial Conference record and still ranks first nationally, while her toss of 152-2 in the discus is the eighth-best throw in the country.

Liz Tawa joined Ebose on the first team. The group won the 4x800-meter relay in 9:16.52, while Nielsen was also the 800-meter champion in 2:15.48.

Lulu Allen-Waller and
Maggie O'Neil as well as seniors
Chastity Hopkins and
Zoe Cina-Sklar completed the list of Garnet athletes who garnered postseason recognition. Allen-Waller was the runner-up finisher in both hurdles events, while O'Neil and Hopkins finished third in the javelin throw and heptathlon, respectively. Cina-Sklar, who competed in the 10,000-meter run, made the all-sportsmanship squad.
Swarthmore plans to send Ebose to the NCAA Division III Track & Field Championships, which will be hosted by St. Lawrence in Canton, N.Y. from May 21-23. The official announcement of qualifiers is slated to be released on Sunday, May 17.
