Wallace Named AVCA All-American for Second Straight Year

Sarah Wallace earned AVCA Division III Honorable Mention status for the second year.

LEXINGTON, Ky. – Sophomore outside hitter Sarah Wallace of the Swarthmore College volleyball team has been named an AVCA Division III Honorable Mention All-American for the second consecutive season, as announced by the organization on Tuesday, Nov. 17.

The 2014 honorable mention followed up her first-year campaign where she left off as the Centennial Conference Player of the Year and a unanimous selection to the First Team. She led the Centennial Conference with 4.14 kills per set while her .258 hitting percentage was the best mark among outside hitters. Wallace's 459 kills this season reset her own program single-season mark of 450 set in 2014.

The San Francisco, Calif. native is also a member of the Capital One Academic All-District IV Division III Volleyball Team and was named tournament MVP three times this season, most recently at the ECAC South Division III Volleyball Championship last weekend. There, the Garnet took home the first ECAC title in program history with a 3-1 win over No. 25 Carnegie Mellon, the top seed in the tournament.

Wallace was a four-time Centennial Player of the Week in 2015 and helped the Garnet to a 22-9 record. She also totaled 16 double-doubles this season and ranked second on the team with 347 digs and 3.13 per set.
