COMPLETE ACADEMIC ALL-AMERICA TEAMS
TOWSON, Md. – Swarthmore College's
Katie Lytle has been named to the Capital One Academic All-America Women's Basketball Team, as announced on Tuesday, Feb. 18 by CoSIDA (College Sports Information Directors of America). The senior was chosen to the second team.
Lytle, a mathematics major, is the reigning Centennial Conference Player of the Year and a D3Hoops.com Preseason All-American. She has also made the Philadelphia Inquirer Academic All-Area Team, the Centennial Conference Winter Academic Honor Roll and was the ECAC Tournament MVP and a WBCA All-America Honorable Mention last season.
A native of Harrisburg, Lytle has been named the Centennial Conference Player of the Week a league-best four times and leads the Garnet in rebounding (12.1 pg) and steals (2.3 pg). She also ranks second on the team and third in the league in scoring (17.1 ppg) as well as first in the conference in rebounding and field goal percentage (51.6). In addition, the senior is one of only three players in program history to score at least 1,000 points and grab more than 1,000 rebounds.
Lytle is the fourth women's basketball player in school history to be a named a Capital One Academic All-American and the first since Kathryn Stockbower achieved the honor in 2011. She is also Swarthmore's second student-athlete to receive the recognition during the 2013-14 academic year after men's soccer standout Michael Superdock earned the honor this past fall.
