Box Score Swarthmore, Pa. Michael Superdock scored a goal and added an assist as the Swarthmore men's soccer team earned a 3-3 draw with Eastern Connecticut State in the final match of the 15th Annual Garnet Alumni Classic on Sunday, Sept. 1 at Clothier Field.

Eastern Connecticut (0-1-1) scored two goals before the midway point of the first half to take a quick lead by getting tallies from Eric Fiore and Mark Richards, but Swarthmore stormed back and tied the match at 2-all. Superdock headed in a free kick to put the Garnet on the board in the 26th minute to slice the deficit in half heading into the break before Jack Momeyer netted the equalizer by finishing a pass from Michael Stewart in the 61st.

The seesaw battle continued through the remainder of regulation, as Mike Radlbeck scored on a free kick taken by Carl Stensland just two minutes after the Garnet had tied the match. Swarthmore (1-0-1), however, got the goal it needed to force overtime when Devon Baughen hammered home a feed from Superdock.

The Garnet, which are ranked 15th nationally by the NSCAA, dominated the overtime sessions and had 10 opportunities to score the golden goal in addition to earning four corner kicks. But Eastern Connecticut goalkeeper Greg Walton came up with three key saves over the final minutes, forcing the teams to settle for the draw.

Peter Maxted made two saves on seven opportunities in goal for Swarthmore, while Eastern Connecticut State's Greg Walton turned away nine of the 32 shots he faced.

Swarthmore (1-0-1) returns to action on Wednesday, Sept. 4 when it travels to Arcadia for a 7 p.m. match.
