Mark Anskis is in his third year as the athletics communications director at Swarthmore College.
Anskis is responsible for the promotion and statistical management of the College's 22 Division III varsity sports. He also serves as a liaison between the Swarthmore College Department of Athletics and the local and national media through the College's web site, publications, press releases and new media technologies.
During his first year at Swarthmore, Anskis was instrumental in the development of the Garnet Sports Network, which broadcast over 80 Garnet athletic events during the 2009-2010 season, attracting close to 10,000 viewers. He was also responsible for the development of the new Swarthmore Athletics website, as well as the department's new focus on social media and video.
Anskis previously worked as an assistant in the Temple University Sports Media Relations Office. While at Temple, Anskis served as the primary media contact for the men’s and women’s gymnastics, men's & women's track & field, men's and women's tennis, softball, field hockey and fencing. He also served as the secondary contact for the men’s basketball and football teams.
As a freelance college basketball writer, Anskis' work has been featured on the websites for ESPN, Sports Illustrated, Yahoo! Sports, AOL Sports, Philly.com as well as the Maple Street Press Kansas Basketball Preview.
A native of Elysburg, Pa., Anskis earned his undergraduate degree in political science from Susquehanna University in 2006. He received a master’s degree in journalism from Temple University in December 2010.
He lives in West Chester with his fiance Lindsay and their dog Gracie.
